Cabin Country Points of Interest

  • What makes a Get - A - Way more desirable than just the Lake, Mountain, River, Camp Ground or whatever are activities in the surrounding communities. Local festivals, quaint shops, flea markets, great eateries, an ice cream parlor, antique and craft shows make coming to the Cabin enjoyable for all age groups. In my neck of the woods we have many activities throughout the year to keep us busy. One of which is the annual Shaker Woods Festival ....

When considering a permanent move to your piece of paradise having these type of activities will keep you busy and fulfilled on a daily basis.

Tell us about some fun activities near your Get - A - Way

  • Cool! Thanks for sharing, PGHPA611. We'll have to save this one for a future issue's "Fun Festivals in Cabin Country."

  • Thank you Emily,

As you know Cabin Country is filled with Points of Interest throughout the year and The Shaker Woods Festival is currently underway with large crowds. Coming up soon in the same location will be Old - Fashioned Christmas In The Woods  October 12-13 and 19-20 , 2013  @  10:00 am - 5:00 pm . This yearly celebration will celebrate its 19th season and is a favorite of locals and tourists alike.

I hope others post some videos or photos from events near their Cabins, Cottages and Lake Homes. Cabin Life is enhanced significantly by the amenities of the local community.

  • With spring under way and summer right around the corner, I wanted to add more nearby attractions to our "Piece of Paradise on Earth"

Approximately 3 miles from the Lake is Beaver Creek State Park with 2722 acres of amazing views and attractions. The park had Human Habitation dating back approximately 10,000 years. "Pioneer Village", "Gaston's Mill", "Malone Bridge" and many other attractions keep you coming back to this amazing place. Here are some pictures of Beaver Creek State Park
