Terraced Steps
Plum Looney Posted: Mon, May 3 2010 7:23 AM Reply

We are interested in making terraced steps on a hill going down to the lake.  Does anyone know how to do it and what materials to use, i.e. logs, treated lumber, railroad ties etc.

Here's a link to our article about building a staircase on a steep hill. Maybe this will help?

Thank you for the reply but i am looking to build a stairway as opposed to a stair case.  The slope is not so steep that I need a stair case but more of a step then 3 to 4 feet of trail then a step then perhaps a foot or two of trail.  I am looking for any pointers for material, procedure, or resources.
